Israeli TV Producer Creates Social Media Movement as a Plea For Peace #StopTheTerror

Online communities through social networking sites Tumblr and Instagram are out to prove that the unique power of social media can be used to influence change in the world.

Initiated by Israeli television producer, Ido Simyoni the online campaign is calling for peace in the Israeli-Gaza conflict by encouraging people in support of peace to upload photos of themselves and tag #StopTheTerror.

Simyoni believes that the online participation will help spread the message, whether it directly affects you or not.

“I come with peace to this project hoping to increase the awareness of how it is important to defeat terror everywhere,” he says.

“As I see it, it doesn’t matter if you are American or European or Middle Eastern; we should all be united saying ‘Stop the Terror.”
