LinkedIn Hits 50 Million Members in Asia Pacific, 5 Million In Australia
LinkedIn have announced in a company blog post that their social network now has 50 million members residing in the Asia-Pacific region, with over 5 million registered users in Australia.
Specifically, the figures are:
- Australia – 5 million members
- India – 24 million
- China – 4 million
- Indonesia – 2 million
- Philippines – 2 million
- Japan – 1 million
- Singapore – 1 million
- Malaysia – 1 million
- New Zealand – 1 million
No doubt user growth in Asia Pacific is only just getting started for LinkedIn – and they can expect much further growth over the coming years.
What is interesting to note is that LinkedIn is not blocked in China, whereas most other social networks are blocked.
In Australia there are over 5 million LinkedIn accounts, however according to our statistics for January 2014, 3.3 million are active on a monthly basis.
LinkedIn went on to comment that their user base in the Asia Pacific region “has nearly tripled in a span of less than three years”.
