Twitter Expected to Open Office in Australia as Executives Fly Out
Twitter Executives are flying out to Australia this week in an attempt to promote the social network down under and gain further support from leading media organisations, sporting bodies, high profile users and technology/ marketing enthusiasts.
Mike Brown is the head of international development at Twitter and will be holding a ‘secret Twitter event’ to high light case studies and information on new Twitter products. The event costs $59 and media has been banned from attending.
On October 10th – Twitter created an official account for their Australian operations and support, so this hints to us a local presence is probably not too far away.
Australia is an important market for Twitter internationally and according to my figures Facebook has over 5 times the users and much higher engagement to Twitter in Australia. Also strongly competing with Twitter in Australia is Instagram which almost has the same number of users.
