When Jetstar Met the iPad
The iPad is making it’s way all over the ground in Australia but now it is taking to the skies.
Jetstar is looking at trialling an in-flight rental service for the iPad to be rolled out on selected domestic flights later this month. The iPads will be preinstalled with videos, e-books, magazines, games and music. The devices will be rented out at a cost of $10.
I spoke with a customer service representative from Jetstar this afternoon and it was confirmed that the devices will not be connected to the internet. In-flight internet in Australia is going to be a thing of the near future but until then, your tweets are going to have to stay on ground.
I am sure this rental service is going to give passengers a nice taste test of the iPad. A nice enough taste to help Apple push even more units than they already are at the moment.
