Apple have just held their annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco where they have unveiled the new iOS7 operating system to the world.

iOS7 is the software that will run on the latest generation of iPhones, iPods and iPads.

Despite a completely designed user interface, there have been a number of under-the-hood tweaks:

  • All the default Apple apps have been upgraded to a more simple design
  • iTunes Radio – Basically an Apple Radio devices built ontop of iTunes
  • Siri gets smarter, new languages, new voices.
  • New Anti Theft devices – “Activation Lock”
  • Notification Center Redesign
  • Swipe up Control Centre (Music, Apps) from the bottom of the screen
  • + lots more

In an interesting move, Apple is distancing itself further from Google as Siri has deeply integrated with Bing, which is now the default search engine for the voice assistant. In addition, Siri has also integrated with Wikipedia and Twitter.

Also worth mentioning is that the default camera app has had filters included (like Instagram) to give your photos that slightly more professional look for those who enjoy using filters.
