MySpace plans Relaunch to Boost user Involvement and Numbers

on July 27, 2010 | MySpace | Comments (0)

MySpace for a long time was Australia’s most popular social networking site, and still today is a prominent figure in the space.

However in mid-2008 Facebook overtook MySpace as the No1 social networking site and has grown by a huge amount since then.

Facebook now attracts around 8.7 million unique users in Australia compared to MySpace’s 1.4 million (figures according to Neilson data). In addition to this over the last year MySpace has lost about 1.1 million Australian users.

Just last week Facebook announced they hit 500 million users.

Jon Miller, the Chief Digital Officer at News Corp has voiced that MySpace still has a strong user base globally and they are planning to revamp the site over the coming months.

MySpace is going to stick to its routes and concentrate on the music platform and also becoming a bigger player in the application gaming market.
