Snapchat Hits 400 Million Photo Sends Per Day, 70% Of Users Being Female
Self destructing photo app Snapchat, now sends 400 millions photos and videos per day on behalf of users. This is double the volume of sends from June when around 200 million photos and videos were sent each day.
Earlier in the month we say Facebook make an offer of $3 Billion USD to acquire Snapchat, which was ultimately rejected.
In contrast, Facebook users uploaded around 350 million photos per day (not including video), and also 55 million photos uploaded to Instagram per day (again not including video).
Arguably, because Facebook and Instagram’s photos do not get deleted, these are ‘worth’ much more in terms of social media value. Regardless, Snapchat just keeps growing and growing and they have a large value themselves.
On Wednesday we heard Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel outline to a group of investors that 70% of Snapchat’s users are female.
How many people use Snapchat?
They have not released figures but I will estimate.
Facebook paid $30 USD per user (app installs) when purchasing Instagram. Facebook’s recent offer to buy Snapchat for $3 Billion USD puts them at around 100 million users/ installs based on the value of $30 USD per user.
