Instagram Updates App to Now Include Video – Users Can Share Short 15 Seconds Clips
We reported earlier in the week there was some speculation about a Facebook Press Event being held on June 20. Some thought Mark Zuckerberg would be unveiling a new RSS reader to take over from the retirement of Google Reader.
However today, Instagram have confirmed that they have shipped version 4.0 of their app which now includes Video functionality. This allows users to create short 15 second video clips, and use 13 different filters to apply over the top.
Instagram have really thought how to make this update best for users. They have even introduced a stabilization feature which you can apply to your video after you shoot it – to make it less jerky and giddy.
Instagram have put together this video to show off the new update:
Instagram Founder, Kevin Systrom also released a number of new stats about the service:
- Now 130 Million active users
- 1 billion Likes per day
- Over 16 billion photos uploaded
